Often, a client comes to us with just an idea. But not every idea is golden, and that's where we shine. Because we're involved daily with the latest technologies, we know what is possible and what is not and can often suggest easier or more economical methods of achieving the same end result. Starting with an idea & rough sketches, we review the requirements of the design and discuss such things as size, shape, market placement, competitive products, etc. to get a feel for the design as a whole. Throughout the entire design process, client input is welcomed and encouraged creating a complete development team.

Sketches are further refined, component research is performed, schematics are drawn, and a prototype is built that demonstrates the form and functionality of the finished product.

Depending on the design requirement, our mechanical design department then uses the latest in 2D & 3D modeling technology to design the housing, check for interference fit, and develop a depiction of how the product will appear.

Our PC board layout department takes all of the notes & schematics from the prototype stage, mechanical specifications from the mechanical design department, and data sheets from component manufactures and designs a PC board.

Boards are fabricated and debugged, software, if necessary, is written, and the whole design comes together.

If the product is an RF design, we pretest it in our isolation chamber and refine emissions until we feel comfortable having it tested. Appropriate testing is then performed by a certified laboratory to achieve regulatory approval. Navigation works closely with the testing laboratory to ensure a swift and cost-effective testing session.

A pilot run is completed and remaining issues are worked out, including product testing and quality assurance procedures.

Navigation representatives will travel to your production facility to assist in configuring your facility for production. If you cannot manufacture the product, Navigation will introduce you to some of our worldwide manufacturing partners to continue the project.

We don't quit there. We remain available to you for debugging faulty boards and can even write service manuals for the product, ensuring that your service department isn't overwhelmed. Throughout the lifetime of the product, we are available for manufacturing cost-reduction studies.
